What to Expect Before You Commit to Anything
What is included in the free consultation?
The free consultation includes a full oral examination by Dr. Cutts, up to three diagnostic x-rays at no charge, and an unhurried
one-on-one conversation where you can ask every question you have. At the end of the visit you will receive a complete, itemized treatment plan with all options and associated pricing. Comfort amenities are available throughout, including neck pillows, warm blankets, your choice of music, and complimentary beverages. The total value of the consultation is $500. There is no cost and no obligation to move forward.
Will I be meeting with Dr. Cutts or a coordinator?
You will meet directly with Dr. Cutts. Not a treatment coordinator, not a sales representative. The consultation is a one-on-one conversation with Dr. Cutts himself, and he is the same doctor who will treat you if you decide to move forward.
Is there any pressure to schedule treatment at the consultation?
No, never. Dr. Cutts will walk you through exactly what is happening in your mouth and what your options are. The decision of whether and when to move forward is always yours. We will never pressure you to schedule or push treatment you have not fully agreed to.
How quickly can I be seen for a new patient consultation?
New patient appointment slots are reserved in advance. You can typically be seen within days, not weeks.
Can I get a second opinion on a treatment plan I received elsewhere?
Absolutely, yes. This is one of the most common reasons patients come in for a first visit. Dr. Cutts regularly reviews treatment plans from other offices. Many patients find that their situation required significantly less treatment than they were quoted. Bring your existing plan and he will give you an honest assessment of what you actually need.
Dental Health
What are the signs of tooth sensitivity?
Tooth sensitivity typically presents as a sharp, sudden pain when consuming hot or cold foods and drinks, or when brushing. It passes quickly but should not be ignored. Sensitivity can indicate exposed tooth roots or worn enamel, both of which can worsen if left unaddressed. If you are experiencing ongoing sensitivity, call the office.
What happens if I have missing teeth?
Missing teeth can lead to difficulty chewing, bone loss in the jaw, and shifting of surrounding teeth. The longer a tooth goes unreplaced, the greater the risk of additional complications. Dr. Cutts offers dental implants, implant bridges, and partial dentures, all placed and restored in-house, and will recommend only what your situation genuinely requires.
What is the difference between a bridge and a dental implant?
A bridge uses surrounding teeth as anchors to support a fixed restoration. A dental implant is placed directly into the jawbone and functions as a standalone replacement without involving adjacent teeth. Dr. Cutts places and restores both options in-house and will explain which makes the most sense for your situation at your consultation.
What is the difference between a cap and a crown?
A cap and a crown are the same thing. A crown is placed over a weakened or damaged tooth to protect it from further cracking or splitting, and is also used following root canal treatment. Full crown cases are handled entirely in-house at The Center for Adult Dentistry.
How the Center for Adult Dentistry Works
Why does this practice focus on adults 50 and older?
Adults 50 and older face a different set of dental challenges than younger patients. Decades of dental history, aging dentition, and complex restorative needs require a level of clinical depth and a different kind of conversation than most general practices are built to provide. The Center for Adult Dentistry has structured its entire clinical model, consultation approach, and team culture around exactly that. It is not a positioning choice. It is how the practice was built.
Will I see the same doctor at every visit?
Yes. Dr. Cutts is the only doctor in the practice. He evaluates, treats, and remains accountable for every case. You will never be passed off to a different doctor or have to start over with someone who does not know your history.
What services are handled in-house?
The Center for Adult Dentistry handles everything in-house, including:
- Full mouth reconstruction
- Dental implants and implant bridges, including All-on-4 and snap dentures
- Partial, full, and implant-supported dentures
- Full crown and veneer cases
- Periodontal care
- Oral surgery, including extractions and bone grafting
- Sedation dentistry
- Cosmetic dentistry
- Urgent and emergency care
Patients are never referred out. Whatever the case requires, it is handled by Dr. Cutts and his team under one roof.
What is the in-house lab and why does it matter?
The Center for Adult Dentistry has a master laboratory technician on-site who fabricates custom dentures, crowns, and prosthetics in the practice. Most dental offices outsource this work to external laboratories, which introduces delays and variability in quality.
Having the technician in-house means faster results, tighter fit, and a level of quality control that outside labs cannot match. For patients who have worn poorly fitting prosthetics elsewhere, this is often the first time something feels right.
Understanding Your Care & Treatment Options
How does Dr. Cutts build a treatment plan?
Every treatment plan is built around what the patient genuinely needs, nothing more and nothing less. Dr. Cutts does not build plans to maximize production or pad recommendations for insurance reimbursement. His standard is simple: the plan he presents is the same one he would recommend for a family member.
What if my dental situation is very complex?
Complex cases are what this practice was built for. Patients arrive at the Center for Adult Dentistry after other offices have fallen short, referred them out, or told them their situation is too complicated to address. Dr. Cutts has spent over four decades handling exactly those cases in-house, from start to finish, without sending patients elsewhere.
What if I have been avoiding dental care for a long time?
You will not be judged here. Many patients who find Dr. Cutts have avoided dental care for years, sometimes decades, because of anxiety, shame, or a prior experience that made the chair feel unsafe. That is understood. The consultation is a conversation, not an assessment of how long you waited. Sedation dentistry is also available for patients who need it to make comprehensive care accessible.
What if my treatment plan takes multiple appointments?
Complex care takes time and multiple appointments. Dr. Cutts will walk you through the full timeline at your consultation so you know exactly what to expect before anything is scheduled. Treatment is built around your timeline and comfort level, and nothing moves forward until you decide you are ready.
Can you handle dental emergencies?
Yes. Same-day and next-day appointments are available for urgent needs, including acute toothaches, broken restorations, and sudden dental pain. Dr. Cutts reserves availability specifically for urgent care because pain and anxiety do not wait for the next opening in the schedule. Call your nearest office directly during office hours.
Costs & Logistics
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. The new patient consultation is free and carries no obligation. It includes a full oral examination, up to three diagnostic x-rays, and a complete itemized treatment plan with all options and pricing. The total value is $500. You pay nothing and are not required to schedule anything afterward.
Are financing options available?
Yes. Flexible financing options are available for comprehensive treatment plans. Package discounts are also available for larger cases. Details will be discussed at your consultation so you have a complete picture of what your treatment will cost and how you can structure the investment.
Is this practice right for me if my budget is limited?
The Center for Adult Dentistry is built for patients who are ready to invest in quality care and want to do it right. It is not the right fit for patients whose primary filter is insurance coverage or who need the lowest cost option available. Patients whose budget begins and ends with what their plan will cover will likely find a better fit elsewhere. That said, financing options are available and the consultation itself costs nothing, so coming in to understand your options and get an honest assessment is always worthwhile.
